Shakira, Colombian music figurehead worldwide, has revealed on Instagram the tracklist of her upcoming album, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” (Women Don’t Cry Anymore).  The album will feature superstar guests rapper Cardi B, internationally renowned DJ Tiësto, Mexican band Grupo Frontera, and is set to be launched on March 22, 2024.

An impressive guestlist

Of the 17 songs featured on Shakira’s new album, ten are collaborations with other artists.

Among the headliners, Cardi B, the famous American rapper, is featured on Shakira’s first track, named “Punteria”, which will mark the first collaboration between the two artists.

As a testament to the album’s orientation, many famous reggaeton artists will be present, such as the Puerto Ricans singers Ozuna and Rauw Alejandro, as well as Colombian singer Manuel Turizo and Argentinian producer Bizarrap.

Shakira’s album will also mark her first collaboration with the Mexican regional music bands Grupo Frontera and Fuerza Regida, as the genre has become popular in recent years. With such collaborations, Shakira will showcase her great artistic versatility which includes Pop, Rock, Reggaeton and Dance music.

Shakira’s comeback

The new album will mark the Lebanese Colombian singer’s comeback after seven years. Shakira’s last album “El Dorado” was launched on May 25, 2017, and then secured the top position on the Latin Billboard. The album included collaborations with other Colombian artists like Maluma and Carlos Vives and was widely celebrated, receiving a Grammy Award for the Best Latin Pop Album in 2018.

However, Shakira has not remained inactive since then, having collaborated with several artists to ignite the world’s dancefloors. Last year, in 2023, she made a strong return with her diss-track song aimed at her ex, football player Gerard Piqué, and her hit “TQG” with her fellow Colombian singer Karol G. Both songs reached the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100, proving that Shakira, despite her 30-year-long musical carreer, is still relevant today.

So get ready, and let your ears know, that Shakira is back !
